The Horns of Sorec are carved from a jet formation said to originate from the great tree that held up the sky in ancient days. The Horns commemorate the Legendary dragon Sorec the Thunderer. Little knowledge remains of this great dragon, sadly, other than he vanished from the world long ago.
The Horns of Sorec's description mentions "the great tree". This is likely a reference to Yggdrasil, an immense tree that is central in Norse cosmology, in connection to which the nine worlds exist.
The Horns of Sorec's description mentions "Sorec the Thunderer". This is likely a reference to Thor, a hammer-wielding god associated with thunder, lightning, storms, oak trees, strength, the protection of mankind, and also hallowing, healing and fertility.
The name, Sorec, becomes "Ceros" when spelled backwards which is Latin for "horn", as in "rhinoceros" (nose-horn).
